Amplitude Modulation Pre-lab

This week's laboratory investigates Amplitude Modulation. Using the XR-2206 datasheet (provided below) determine the following and record in your lab notebook (refer to table 1 to resistor and capacitor values available in the lab):

  1. Find and sketch (or print and paste into your lab notebook) the circuit for minimum harmonic distortion
    • what supply voltage(s) will you use?
    • determine which timing resistor and capacitor to use to give a 100 Hz frequency
    • for amplitude modulation a modulating signal must be applied to the circuit, determine where it is connected
  2. Write out all the parts you will need (chips, resistors, capacitors, # of alligator clips, # of scope probes)
