Sample Quiz - Intro to Op Amps

Answer each question in a sentence or two.

  1. An op amp circuit with supply voltages of  +/- 10 V is producing a sine wave from 0 to 6 volts. If the supply voltages are changed to  +/- 12 V, would you expect the output to change? What if the supply voltages are changed to  +/- 5V?

  2. An op amp data sheet includes the following note: "Note 2: input voltage range is (V+ - 1V) to (V-)."
Do V+ and V- refer to supply voltages or to the non-inverting and inverting inputs? How can you tell?

  3. An LM741 op amp comes in an 8 pin DIP package. How many of these pins will need to be connected to something in order to have a working amplifier circuit?
