PC/CP300: Electronics Laboratory II

Sub-Tasks

Completing the project requires the completion of several sub-tasks along the way.

  • Light activation:
    Show your circuit which
    1. isn't affected by room light
    2. turns on when the flashlight is shone on it
    3. stays on until you perform some "reset" action

  • Side wall avoidance:
Demonstrate your robot moving along the wall so that it
    1. senses the wall
    2. doesn't hit the wall
    3. stays relatively close to the wall while moving along

  • End wall avoidance:
Demonstrate your robot moving towards the end wall so that it
    1. senses the wall
    2. doesn't hit the wall
    3. stops with the back end of the robot within 1 m of the wall

Completing these early will allow them to replace part of the final demonstration mark, according to the following scale. Note that combined tasks are worth more than the sum of the individual tasks. To get the 2 or 3 task marks, you'll need to show the tasks together. For instance, start with the light and stop before the end wall without switching circuits. (Numbers are the percentage of the demonstration mark replaced):

week light activation avoid side wall stop before end wall any 2 tasks all 3 tasks
1 20 20 20 60 80
2 10 10 10 30 40
