PC/CP300 Electronics Laboratory II

Digital-to-Analog and Analog-to-Digital Converters Postlab Requirements

  1. Design an op-amp signal conditioning circuit to modify the ADC circuit to allow inputs in the range -10V to +10V. Note the ± 10V must be safely converted to the voltage range expected by the ADC. Explain how the signal conditioning circuit operates.
  2. Look at Figure 10. A/D Tester with Analog Error Output on page 25 of the ADC0804 datasheet. Explain how the circuit operates (circuit description).
  3. Summarize all the key points from the lab. I strongly recommend that you do this within 24 hours of completing the lab. You are summarizing what you learned from the lab experience, not the assigned readings.
  4. Photocopy your summary and submit it with your post-lab questions to the instructor at next week's lecture.
